Kids now must train early in developing what we may call a new global outlook, especially because of the various age groups in any country, the kids are the most exposed now to the Internet in this age of the computers. Just observe your kid conversing online with another kid in another time zone, like they are just face to face with one another.
The Internet has indeed made the globe a much smaller place never before imagined. The world of tomorrow of the children now may be very different from what the adults now know. The differences between peoples of countries may just gradually disappear with the ease of communications now, ushered by the invention of Bill Gates.
The speed of the development of Information Technology is also so fast that some equipment, like the desk computer models of about five years ago are now literally museum pieces, if not already piled up in the junk yards ready to be melted into recycled materials to be used in the making of more recent models.
The little kids now in contact with the children on the other side of the globe could develop a new definition of what the world is in the future. Maybe they will just regard a strange country like Tim Buktu, now virtually unknown by adults as just the country next door. They can converse or communicate in other ways with their pals there as if they were just all in the same neighborhood.
The global outlook of the kids that could develop with the easy communications now should bring about a more peaceful world with peoples of different nations kinder and more tolerant of one another. The Kindergarten Educational Software which is now available practically in all countries could ensure this kind of upbringing of the kids worldwide. Maybe we cannot imagine now of this thing happening in our time, but who knows what the morrow will bring?
We never thought of the Internet before, as late as just about twenty years ago. Now it is very much a part of everyone’s life, especially the young people. The adults now who did not experience studying with the computer before in their schooling of course may not appreciate this development. In fact many of the older generations are practically unaware of the computer age.
But your child is a very different kind now. Exposed to Information Technology even from the earliest years, he is hooked to the computer, and is better able to understand what goes on in the other side of the globe. You could even get the surprise of your life when the kid starts asking you what global warming is all about. If you have not kept in step with the times, he might just smile maliciously at you as one of those ignoramuses who belong to the Ice Age.
Do not take offense at the kid’s comment now. He is just kidding you, but maybe it is time for you to accept the new World you are in now, and follow what the kid is doing. Become an Internet addict to catch up with the young ones. Develop your own version of a relevant global outlook.
